Share the power...
We all share that power, maybe not to create a world; but in giving simple encouragements, words of love and whispers of comfort we make someone have more confidence, feel loved and cared for. But exercise caution for words also have the power to destroy confidence, heart and trust.

Ask and you shall receive...
God's love is abundant. He knows our needs and He sends it to us even before we need it. He forgives us as soon as we feel sorry about our sins. We just have to hold on to our faith and believe.

Have faith...
Our worries can lead us to two ways... to doubt or to trust. But Jesus said, "Do not be afraid; just have faith."
Today's reflection brought me to tears. I have a lot on my plate right now and I feel lost. The message felt like it was sent literally to my inbox!
I'm not afraid. I trust and have faith!

Decisions...
To be perfect for Jesus we have to give up all our earthly possessions and follow Him. Can we do that? How much can we let go and hold back? Some will find it difficult but some did just that...

RE Class - Day 2
Last week was the second day I taught RE class.
It still amazes me how a young child's mind works. The boys I teach have a lot of smart opinions and questions. It is a lot of fun!
There are challenges on the behavior side but nothing that can not be learned to go around to...
Our theme last week was about Creation. I made a box for each of them. They were to pick a favorite out of all God's creation and promise how to take care of it. They wrote it on a paper and slip in the box. Some are really expecting that God will see their promise and even reply to them :-)
Their concerns touched me. As young as they are, they already feel responsible for some big things like the environment. It is with great faith that with these children there is still hope for the future of our planet.

Devotion...
As a full-time mother, part-time business person, part time teacher I have a lot to juggle. I there are days I find myself starting everything and finishing nothing. These are my flaws as a human. But when I keep hold on my faith and ask God to guide me first, I always find the right way and finish everything.

Faithfulness...
The first commandement is states:
I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery; you shall have no other gods before me.
Our God is a faithful God but in return He asks us to be faithful to Him too. Faithful to God through our actions and words. Try this 3-Minute Retreat

The power of words...
I once saw a story about a mother teaching a child about the words he speaks. She said be careful on every word you say. Every time you say a hurtful word to another, it's like taking a knife and striking a piece of wood. The wood will heal but the mark of the strike will remain. Let us be speakers of praise and not criticism. It is better to motivate someone with positive words than putting them down.

One body...
How do you define your parish? Do you feel you belong and welcomed? I have had a few experience of being welcomed and at home in one parish, and the feeling of alienation in another. My husband's nature of work made us move around almost half of the United States. And in each state we will find a parish that we immediately love or feel un-welcomed. But what keeps us going is not the physical feeling of belonging to the church, but being one in body with Christ during the mass. It doesn't really matter if they don't shake our hands for the sign of peace. As long as we have peace in our hearts.

What convinces you that God truly loves you? For me, just the fact that I open my eyes every morning, that I see the smiles from my children's face and feel my husband's embrace are truth of God's love for me. Try this 3-Minute Retreat

RE Class - Day 1
Yesterday was my first time to teach Religious Education to seven third grader boys. I was not scared because I can handle boys (I have two of my own)... But I was anxious.
I was worried on how the flow of the class will go... I was wondering how will I treat this third grader boys (their behavior based on maturity)... I was obsessing on the topics to cover...
But I am proud to say, that one and a half hour went by so fast. The boys we're participating. I had a glimpse of how with one question their minds wind up like wheels! That there are crazy ideas and questions we've yet to tackle :-)
I know this teaching stint will be a blast! I will be able to impart and teach things. And I am looking forward to gain and learn things as well.

Magnificat...
- My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour;
- he has looked with favour on his lowly servant.
- From this day all generations will call me blessed;
- the Almighty has done great things for me and holy is his name.
- He has mercy on those who fear him,
- from generation to generation.
- He has shown strength with his arm
- and has scattered the proud in their conceit,
- Casting down the mighty from their thrones
- and lifting up the lowly.
- He has filled the hungry with good things
- and sent the rich away empty.
- He has come to the aid of his servant Israel,
- to remember his promise of mercy,
- The promise made to our ancestors,
- to Abraham and his children for ever.

Welcome!
Dear Parents, Friends and Families,
Welcome to my blog about teaching the Catholic faith.
First let me introduce myself...
I am a stay-at home mom for the last 6 and half years of my life. I can not be more grateful to God and my husband who are great providers, that I am able to stay home.
I volunteered to be a catechist when I registered my oldest in 1st grade religious education. There was a line asking what ministry I am interested on volunteering and now here I am!
This will be my first year of teaching religious education. In all honesty, I have no teaching experience. But I don't have a doubt that I can do this, we are all born teachers anyway! I will have fun growing, discovering and living the faith with my soon-to-be students.
I maybe short in teaching experience but I am never short of learning our religion. I had my own share of religious education from Kindergarten thru my University years. And now that I will be teaching it, I continue my studies through training, seminars and webinars.
In this blog, I will be posting what happened in my classroom weekly. I will also be posting resources for the lessons discussed. And on daily basis I will post faith based links for personal and spiritual growth.
I hope you will visit my blog more often (even just once weekly :-D).
